I won't even get into the rant, but I did send a level-headed, but angry email to the Speaker of The House. I will remain a registered Independent until the Democratic wimps quit caving into the greedy that control this country

I was just told about a guy in rural Ontario who installed enough solar panels to power his house (other than a a propane fridge / freezer). He had a battery array that could store the excess power, and even on dull days could meet his basic requirement.
So Ontario Hydro, most upset that he no longer required their service, started a law suit against him, insisting that he be required to hook up his system to the grid, so they could syphon the excess power. They wanted him to pay the $65,000 hook-up charge.
They couldn't get the case to court, but it shows that no-one is interested in alternative power unless the same old cronies are going to profit from it - same deal with the electric car.

65K hookup charge? Shit, don't they have enough money already?

Hopefully there will be a time soon when people have had enough of these greedy assholes, and rebel.
