Just leaving you a note to say that I know I HAVE to read this, but I don't know when I'll get to it! I may wind up printing it for my flight to Dallas next week....

Thanks for your comment - and no rush on reading it, it will still be here whenever you get the chance :)

Hi! Do you mind editing this entry so it doesn't force white (or any color) font? It makes it impossible to read without highlighting in the default LJ scheme (?style=mine), which I know a lot of people use. Thanks! :)

Thanks for the suggestion - I am pathetically new at LJ, so I'm not really sure how to do that... is there an easy way? If you know of a way to do that, I'd be more than happy to try, but anything too technical may be a bit beyond me - sorry!

If you edit the post (on your default style, it looks like the edit link would be just above the comments section), you should be able to do it from there.

Are you using rich text or HTML? I'm fiddling around with one of my own posts, and it looks like it's a bit trickier to remove color with rich text mode (it tends to be rather clunky), but if you switch it to HTML, you should be able to remove all the unnecessary tags. Are you familiar with HTML coding at all? If you need more help with that, I can give you a quick and easy tutorial on the kinds of things most commonly used in LJ posts and comments.

Okay, just got home from work and am ready to fix this! So - what are these "unnecessary" font tags you speak of? As in, I can see them (I think), but I don't know how to tell what should be there, and what shouldn't...? Or do they all just need to GO? And do I need to do that for all my posts, or just this one? (Or would it be easier if I just scratch this layout and pick one with black text? 'cause I'm not overly attached to it or anything...)

Thank you for helping me, sorry I need so much of it!

I've just started reading this and like how it's going along.

HOwever, in January, 1994 Sam would only have been 10 years old-- he wouldn't turn 11 until May.

Hi, um, so, there are no words. You should delete your font tags. Thanks!

Oops, sorry! Thank you for putting up with me - I am still learning my way around LJ. I *think* I've fixed it, please let me know if it's still playing up.

Woohoo! You did it! Yay, and yeah, LJ's RTE is a fucking bitch. Just know that a lot of us who do a lot of reading on LJ have it set to the basic lj page so that its always the same, and that if you mess with the font (or, by default, if LJ's RTE does) it stays messed with for us and often makes us twitchy. :) Thanks for fixing it!

Hey, I figured out how to make the format go away! OMG, no wai! Of course, I figured it out, you know, after you'd fixed your font troubles, but um. I tried?

Aw, thank you for trying anyway, that was very sweet of you!! I don't even know how I switched it on in the first place, but at least I now know how to switch it off. :)
