My friend Jessica has synesthesia, mostly with music. She was telling me about it during a break in band one day, and I think it's absolutely FASCINATING!

Yeah. I have it with just about everything, including music. It's pretty sweet.

I definitely have it with numbers, letters somewhat. But I never see them as a certain color. I just associate a color, gender, and / or personality with each. But some are far clearer than others... For example, 9 has always been a female number with a spoiled, haughty, selfish nature. 'She' is kind of a dull, brownish orange. 3, however, is also female, but much less prissy... I actually think of the Teletubby 'Po' for some reason. It's harder for me to get 3's personality, probably because 'she' is not so assuming as 9.

It sounds like crazy jumbo. I can see how some people want to 'hide' it! ;D I've talked about it with my friends a few times before, though.

Oh oh, obviously 3 is red. Kinda. Hard to know, but that's what comes immediately to mind. You can't think too hard on this stuff or it disappears and you start doubting yourself, you know?

Lol, everyone I know that has it says three is red. I think it's amusing.

I think the real form of synestheia is where you actually can see things in your minds eye in a certian way, or feel them in a different order. It's a jumbling or miscommunication of senses-- for example, when I taste spearmint, I feel tall. When I hear a certian note, I see certian colors-- like bflat is blue, etc. When I taste oranges, I see silver. The association of personalities to things isn't uncommon, but I don't think it actually falls under the catergory of 'synestheia', because that is merely a jumbling of the senses; however, I think most people that do have synestheia associate personalities to things (I know I always have!) and I think it just comes as an 'added' bonus. lol.

Hmm. I don't have that extreme of an experience. Maybe I only have it slightly? Haha. Or maybe it's something different and yet similar?

Oh, I definately do as well. I've not really gotten into it until recently, although I've known I've had it since I was in junior highschool. It makes things a lot more intresting... although it can be a little distracting sometimes xD
