“Officer Wittlesey, I'm so glad you're the one accompanying me. I wanted to meet you.”
“Is that right?”
“Scott told me about you. Told me there's a lady guard here who might be able to help me out. Made it sound like you two were friends.”
“We weren't.”
“I figured. Scott was always spinning stories. Either that or hurting people. Did he hurt you?”
“He was an inmate here. I barely knew him.”
“That wasn't what I asked.”
“No, he didn't hurt me.”
“Not even during the riot? Weren't you a hostage?”
“He didn't hurt me.”
“Were you upset when the S.O.R.T. team shot him?”
“I don't think I should say any more.”
“My brother was an awful human being, but he was still my brother. This prison is responsible for taking him from me. I thought since you might be a friend of his, you might want to help me too.”
“I already told you I barely knew him. I can't help you.”
“That's all right. I'm meeting someone who can. Thank you, Officer Wittlesey.”
