What got me into it was the death of John Peel. I was ranting and ranting about the fact he is irreplaceable, that modern radio is terrible when my partner just said 'why don't you do it'.

That put the idea into my head (that I could do it, NOT that I could replace John Peel), and coupled with the love of sharing music with people that when podcasting came to my notice via the sadly now defunct Mashup Podcast, it just seemed to fit.

I'd also played at pretend radio stations as a kid, even to the point of coming close to winning a famous find-a-kid-presenter competition at my local radio station when I was young, so I've been into radio for a long time, although I never wanted to make it my work.
