did you see mystic river or 21 grams, i'm not sean penn happy or anything, they're just two really good movies of the past year that you didn't mention.
Mystic River: this film was great. Its one of those movies thats almost too perfectly executed, an example of what a studio film can be.
21 Grams: Just when the out of sequence story telling becomes so confusing you want to give up, it all starts to make sense. When you think about the plot of this movie too much its extremely thin, but while your watching, all you'll be able to think is, amazing performances all around.
P.S. I'm so with you on the Station Agent. Pete Dinklage is my hero.
ah yes, i'll tack the three worthy oscar nominees on the honorable mention as well: LotR:RotK, Mystic River, and Master and Commander.
As for 21 Grams, it was well excecuted 'n all, but it seemed like the primary motive of the film was to be as horribly depressing as possible. Not that that's bad thing in itself, but after the complexity of Amores Perros, it was a bit of a let down for me.
