(Stolen from makokitten.)

Song 25
What is it?: "Picture to Burn" - Taylor Swift
A fact about this song: It's the first song I ever learned how to sign (hence its being in my top 25).
What's your favourite lyric from this song?: Um... I don't think any of them are particularly inspired, but I am a big fan of signing "So watch me strike a match on all my wasted time." It's a fun sequence of sings that actually work well together and with the feel of the song.
When was the first time you heard this song?: Sometime junior year.

Song 24
What is it?: "Sin Tí No Soy Nada" - Amaral
Why do you like it?: It's cute, pop-rock-y, the lyrics are pretty fantastic, and it's by Amaral. What's not to like?
Is this a famous song, or unknown?: It's very well-known in the Spanish-speaking world, basically unknown in the anglophone one.
What instruments are in this song?: Um... guitar, keyboard, drums, and a synthesizer.

Song 23
What is it?: "Bonus Track" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
Name someone else (if there is anyone) that you know likes this song: My little sis!
How long have you known this song?: Since I was... 7? 8? Basically, forever.
Can you, or would you like to be able to, play this song?: The great majority of the instrumental is a synthesizer, so I´m not quite sure how well I'd do there... But that'd be fun.

Song 22
What is it?: "99 Red Ballons" - Goldfinger
Does this song remind you of anything? Mme Vigeant, who told us all in her 6th period French class in 8th grade that she knew all the German lyrics to it, because she'd learnt them as a child.
Favourite line?: "It´s all over and I'm standing pretty in the dust that was a city."

Song 21
What is it?: "Bubbly" - Colbie Caillat
Does this song get stuck in your head a lot?: Sometimes.
How did you get introduced to this band/artist?: My little sis used to sing it all the time.
Have you ever seen this band/artist live?: Nope.

Song 20
What is it?: "Más" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
Why do you like it? Yes!
Does it have a video? What's it about?: Sadly, no.
Do you find the artist/one of the band members attractive?: I guess Leire is attractive?

Song 19
What is it?: "Peces de Ciudad" - Ana Belén
What is it about?: Um... hard to say. I guess about how reality/dreams/myths/idealism overlap, and how nothing is truly average/to be expected, yet it is all a routine and we've gotten complacent in it. Or some such thing.
Have you ever danced to this song?: Possibly.

Song 18
What is it?: "Don't Rain on My Parade" - Lea Michele
What's your favourite line?: Um... I guess "But whether I'm the rose of sheer perfection or freckle on the nose of life's complexion..."
Why?: I really just like the second part but it needs the first for context; I like the idea of being a frekcle on the nose of life's complexion, I'm not quite sure why.
Would you like to see this band/artist live?: Meh. I mean, if it means I'm seeing her in something exciting on Broadway, sure. Otherwise... meh.

Song 17
What is it?: "If I Die Young" - The Band Perry
Do you like to sing along to it?: Sometimes, yes.
Do you own the album that this song is from?: Nope.
Is this your favourite song on the album?: I... guess? By the process of 'there are no other options?'

Song 16
What is it?: "Jueves" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
How old were you when you started liking this song?: 16? 17?
Is it a new song or an old song?: New. From the last two years, I think?
Has this song ever been on a film/TV program/advert?: Not that I'm aware of.

Song 15
What is it?: "El Blues de la Generación Perdida" - Amaral
Which of the band members is your favourite?: Eva Amaral!
What did you think of it the first time you heard it?: OMG, it's a song about the Lost Generation! OMG, look at the effects of WWI.
Do you still think that now?: Basically.

Song 14
What is it?: "La Visita" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
Who wrote this song?: Pablo Benegas and Xabi San Martín, I think? (Two of the band members.)
What does it remind you of?: Catholic school, actually. Largely because there are so many mentions of Heaven, angels, "a tall, smiling woman" come to lead someone to Heaven, etc.
Do any of your friends like this song?: Little sis. *shrug*

Song 13
What is it?: "Dos Cristales" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
On a scale of 1-10, how much do you love this song?: Um... 7.5
Do you know all the words?: Yup.
What's your favourite lyric?: "[There exist] fools who throw their coins into the fountain, realists who don't hesitate to get wet and pick them up."

Song 12
What is it?: "Geografía" - La Oreja de Van Gogh (Wow, I really listen to them a lot...)
Why do you like this song?: Because I love the band, and it's sweet and full of social commentary and a declaration of love all in one.
How does this song make you feel?: Happy.
Why?: It just evokes the image of a happy, really, truly in-love girl, thinking that her love can fix all the troubles of the world. And I find that adorable.

Song 11
What is it?: "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" - Chris Colfer
How long have you liked this song?: Since it aired, i guess? I mean, I wouldn't consider it one of my favorite songs by a long-shot, I just thought it was a nice rendition of it, even if taken entirely out of context.
Have you seen the band/artist live?: Nope.
If yes, were they good?: *silence*

Song 10
What is it?: "It Won't Be Long" - Evan Rachel Wood
What's your favourite line?: Um... I can't think of any remarkably lines. It's basically the same four lines over and over again...
What is the song about?: Reuniting with one's S.O. after a long time.
Can you relate to this song?: Um... Yes? That seems somewhat obvious.

Song 9
What is it?: "Tarde de Domingo Rara" - Amaral
Does it have a video? What's it about?: There isn't  one. =[
Do you think the title fits in with what the song is about?: Yupyup!
What colour best fits this song?: It reminds me of red, but I think that's just because that is the theme of the album... (As in, it is titled "Red Dragon" and all the artwork is in red, and it comes with extra pictures of the singer, and she's dressed in red...)

Song 8
What is it?: "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - T.V. Carpio
Who wrote it?: The Beatles!
How long is it?: 2:46
Does this song mean a lot to you?: Yup!

Song 7
What is it?: "Over the Rainbow" - Glee Cast (Goodness, I swear I don't actually own that much Glee music!)
How does this song make you feel?: Dreamy.
Do your friends also like this song?: I think so.
Have you ever sung it really loud in public?: Yup!

Song 6
What is it?: "Don't Stop Believin'" - Glee Cast
What's the rudest word in this song?: Um... how about none? If I had to go with one, "cheap," as in "cheap perfume" would do it. But, I mean... not really.
Do you have any merchandise of this band/artist?: Nope.
If yes, what?: N/A, silly goose!

Song 5
What is it?: "La Barrera del Sonido" - Amaral
Does it really deserve to be your 5th most played song?: I think so. I listen to it all the time and I really like it.
Who does it remind you of?: Um... I guess my little sis, because she was with me when I went to see it live.
What is it about?: Um... wanting to overcome routine and get away from the empty/meaningless words and actions people say/do all the time, just to be polite or do what is expected.

Song 4
What is it?: "Dile al Sol" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
If someone insulted this song/band, would you stand up for it?: Actually, people did for a while, because there was this filthy rumor going around about how they supported the terrorist group ETA. Which was totally not true. And I did set a few people straight on the matter. (Including my siblings...)
Do you like the title of this song?: Yuppers! It sums up the song really well.
Has it ever been on a film/TV program/advert?: Not that I can think of?

Song 3
What is it?: "Europa VII" - La Oreja de Van Gogh
How much did you pay for this song? Nothing! My dad bought me the CD. =D
Was it worth it?: Yup!
Favourite line?: "I tear off the flag from my space suit and I write on the back that I am from humanity."

Song 2
What is it?: "I Want to Hold Your Hand" - The Beatles
Why do you like it?: It's a wonderful song and it has nice memories.
If you had a quote from this song in your screen name, what would it be?: happyinside
Is it by your favourite band/artist?: One of the top, but not really it. I think they come in second in terms of my anglophone music (right behind Leonard Cohen).

Song 1
What is it?: "All My loving" - Jim Sturgess
Why is it your most played song?: It is a lovely song from a lovely movie with lovely lyrics and lovely memories attached to it.
What's the strangest place you've ever listened to this song?: o.O Um... I don't think I've ever listened to it in a strange place...
What album is it from?: The "Across the Universe" Soundtrack CD.
Is this your favourite song of all time?: Not really... it is pretty up there, though.
Has it always been your most played song, or does it keep changing?: Um... It is at the top of the list by a large margin, so I guess it stays there pretty regularly. It's sort of a vicious cycle; I only ever use my iTunes to use the iTunes DJ and listen to completely random things (otherwise I use a playlist on my iPod), and iTunes DJ uses the songs that have the highest ratings and highest listen counts to play more often, so it gets played very often, and as such remains in the top position pretty consistently.
What is it about?: Sustaining a long-distance relationship. (Anyone see a pattern?)
What's your favourite line from this song?: "I'll pretend I am kissing the lips I am missing (and hope that my dreams will come true.)"

Conclusions:
  • I listen to the same artists ALL THE TIME.
  • I listen to a LOT of covers. Where is my original music?!
  • I rarely pick and choose what I'm listening to on my computer -- otherwise, Field Commander Cullen would have made more of an appearance.
  • I mostly listen to music in Spanish. Still. (Though this time it was very close! 13 to 12!)
  • Most of my top-played songs are there because of emotional value/attachment, not necessarily musical value.
