Nice letter - I hope your grievance is heard! I guess all the exisiting service providers are bad - though they are called 'service providers' they seem to do exactly opposite - if by chance these people encounter any issues they just dont seem to know how to provide 'service'.

But it maybe high time that some action is taken against atleast one such service provider so that every other provider is careful. And airtel has given me too a lot of problems

yes Aparna... it is in our nature, we feel that this is part of the game, everyone faces similar problems, so why should I bother or complain about it...

I asked this Airtel executive, if for some reason I fail to pay the bill even for one day, they immediately call up and charge me a late fee and service charges for the delay...

Should I be charging them for service delay and cost of calling them up from my landline and the time spent on this task...

ofcourse, he didn't had any answer for that...

it is pay back time...!!

Way to go! prashanthchengi November 30 2009, 11:20:09 UTC
Dear Hari,

I'm sure many, many of us have been at the receiving end of the customer-(devil-may)-care attitude network and connectivity providers, whether Airtel or not. You are quite right when you point out that most of us just take it lying down, consoling ourselves that it's the best that we can hope for. In the rare cases when these guys do the work that they are supposed to, we go overboard with joy and all over a thing that was our right to expect, not a personal favor or something. Keep the pressure onto them till they realize they cannot take their customers for granted. Please also explore options for suing them for damages. It would be a landmark decision if such a thing comes through, a decision that will have seriously positive spinoffs for the countless voiceless suffering consumers of these behemoth companies. All the very best!

I agree Prashanth... I'll resort to legal notice, if they do not take any action today...

Hang on !
I had network problems with Hutch while in NCST. The phone use to disconnect every 5 secs making my bill rise to 3 times the amount.

After lot of complaints a person from hutch came checked the network with some instruments he has got and took a complaint of poor network availability.

Later (after a lot of effort) I made them wave off a good part of my bill.
