I really do.

I got a call today from a collection agency for my maiden name (which Verizon hasn't used for 2 years), for a collection account from Verizon.
The last time they called, I actually did call Verizon to ask them Wtf was up. They said nothing was up, adn they had no idea what I was talking about.

There's a scam going on where a "collections agency" will call and say you owe some old bill. $26 is small enough that a lot of folks will just pay it over the phone without a second thought, giving the scammers access to your credit card.

That would explain why the collections agent was such a bitch on the phone.

Ask them to send you information IN WRITING. Also suggest getting a copy of your credit report, and if it is on there, you can challenge it.

If only they didn't have the call Canada plan that Max uses and needs to keep in touch with his family without costing us a fortune.. OHhhhh if only.

We tried VOIP (Voice Over IP) for a while. I don't know whether that service is still available, though.
