Need more info. Are these endnotes, bibliography entries, or what? Why don't you just email me your paper and I'll look? No, I won't do stuff for you, but I'll look at it.

Bibliography entries are alpha by last name, so reverse first/last names of first author:

Richter, Ernst-Ludwig, and Heide Härlin, “The 'Stuttgarter Kartenspiel': Scientific Examination of the Pigments and Paint Layers of Medieval Playing Cards,” Studies in Conservation 21, no. 1 (1976): 18-24.

Note that you don't use the season or month if you've got an issue number. Also, no comma after journal title.

... But ..but..

http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html

This says specifically to put the names in the first / last order. Was I reading it incorrectly?

Is yours the newer version? Because the website is what the CA Editor pointed me to, does 16th version (I think). Should I write Kiri and see which she's using?

Ok, no season or month, and vol, no. # is the format.

I swear it's taken me as long to do the citation stuff as it did to write the damn thing.
