I have a vague recollection of that, but my mind is so shot tonight! I was repeating something Andy had just said to me, like, he finished the sentence and i started it, and I only made it three words in before I completely COMPLETELY forgot what I was saying.
I also got dipes from cottonbabies, good company! I also got a lot of stuff from diaperware.com. people will tell you you have to have the kid to know what fits and works, blahblah. But whatever. We've been using fuzzi bunz since he was born. He wore smalls until last May, and is still in mediums, and he's 35" tall. We also use bg! but the 1.0 and 2.0 version. I have just noticed that the elastic is shot in half of those.
Andrew uses about 6 diapers a day, we wash every third day. When he was newborn, it was more like 10 a day! and I washed every other day.
I have always washed in All free and clear, which is not really recommended anymore. soak in baking soda, wash in 1/2 amt detergent, vinegar in rinse.
www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com for lots of learning. also, www.diaperpin.com
Prefolds and wool = the best! And they are so affordable, too. Join the clothdiapering community for all you need to know and more.
12+ diapers a day for newborns, and it gradually goes down with time. Even if you decide to go with AIOs or pockets, it is always good to have a dozen or so spare PFs in case your diapers stop fitting -- you can always make prefolds fit even the most awkward body shapes :)
Cloth diaper... to get you started cheep... ask on Freecycle... it's amazing how many cloth diapers are out there collecting dust. Then you can splurge on a few really really cute/cool ones :)
