Public mirrors

Next time you enter a full elevator, an escalator with mirrors on the wall or a public bathroom, take note of the behaviour of those around you. Nine times out of ten people will spend more than a couple seconds checking themselves out in the mirror. I'd say the mirror reminds us that we don't always look the same as the mental image we have of ourselves. :)

Admittedly I do make a double take when I see myself in a mirror for that reason. Its like hearing your voice echo back at you on the phone. That *always* does my head in!

See, I have an excuse for checking myself out in a mirror: I recently undergone LASIK, so I always think something's off with the way I look... until my brain kicks in. :3
