He wondered if maybe he had over reacted.

A small wince crossed the young god's face as he curled up at the base of the large tree he had been calling home for the past few days, gingerly pulling his injured arm onto his lap. He would've felt a great deal more at ease higher up in the branches, but he lacked both the power and the motivation to ( Read more... )

Somehow, it seemed to have slipped Horus' mind that Apollo was an expert tracker -- he and Artemis had hunted enough wild game together that finding a wounded Egyptian bird would be laughably simple. But, there was no room in the Greek's mind for cockiness, not now -- humility and stern kindness were in order, to win the skittish Egyptian over.

After pin-pointing Horus' position, Apollo transformed to his crow form, finding it easier to sweep the park, looking for the tree he was surely curled beneath -- ah, there he was! He swooped down, alighting gracefully on the younger god's knee, cawing pleasantly.

"That wasn't so hard~"

The reaction was almost instantaneous. A string of Egyptian curses cut through the air as Horus reflexively kicked out, and he was up and running not half a beat later. It was a flight response to be proud of, and he wasn't even aware he was moving until a very sharp and very distracting pain reminded him that swinging his arm like that was probably a bad idea.

He really needed to stop inviting stupid challenges like this. It was getting ridiculous.

Apollo squawked, fluttering out of the way in a flurry of black feathers, just barely dodging the kick. He landed a few feet away, transforming as he touched down and bolted after Horus, surprised at his speed for having been injured -- that is, until he stumbled.

"Horus, stop!" He took advantage of the younger god's weakness and grabbed his good wrist, jerking him back. "You needn't run from me, pouli!"

Horus gave another small yelp when he was jerked off balance. He stumbled back into the older god, turned, and lashed out with his free arm, gritting his teeth as the injury practically screamed in protest.

"Leave me alone!" he snapped, attempted to quickly twist out of Apollo's grip.
