i'm constantly trying to figure out if some new ailment in my cat or dog requires the vet.

for what it's worth, my experience is that cats usually need few days to do their healing.. but i usually end up taking them to the vet so that i can sleep without panicking.

Hope she's ok? My kitty had a habit of perking up at the vet and making me look like I'd made it up.

Could she have been in a scrape with another cat and come off worst? In which case it might be a puncture wound that'd be hard to see. Might need antibiotics though.

she seems to be moving okay now, and who knows if the extra needy cuddliness and indoorsiness is health related or just cos it's snowing. i had a cat in Sydney who was always getting absesses after fighting, so i know what to keep an eye out for, don't want to force feed antibiotics unless i really have to.
