First, I have to say, that John Isner played a good match. If it were not for my love of Andy I would have been cheering him on the whole way, but Andy is my man when it comes to tennis, and matches like tonight are part of the reason why ( Read more... )

Can you believe it I've watched absolutely none of the Aussie Open? I've read about the matches online and what our newspaper covers but that's it.

This is the first year that I've had a chance to watch and I am loving every minute of it! :)

So far my top 3 are still in it - Andy Murray, Serena and Venus (but they may meet in the Semis). Andy Roddick is still in it to..he had to fight to be there, but he's been great.

ESPN2 Has been showing the games at night and then The Tennis Channel (Which comes in the basic extra pkge through DirecTV) shows them in the morning. They share a lot of the afternoon stuff. Basically there is always something on...oh yeah and they show certain courts on channels 703 to 706 or 707 (Which should also come from the basic-extra pkge).

If you get a chance, try to catch a couple of matches...its well worth it, especially now that its coming down to the final 8!

Who do you like?

I did see that the 700 channels had stuff on and I checked out the mix one day but none of the matches that were showing interested me.

If I get a chance this week I will try to watch some.

I don't even know who I'm rooting for. Safin has been my player but now that he retired I haven't picked anyone new to give my full rooting attention to. I've never really had a woman favorite. Since Roddick's still in I'll probably root for him.

Even though Andy M. Is my top guy and Serena is my top girl, I watch & support a lot of players, which helps me enjoy the sport as a whole.

The Women:
  • Oudin
  • Lisicki
  • Clijsters
  • Wozniacki
The Men:
  • Isner
  • Querrey
  • Blake
  • Monfils (Now that he is maturing, and actually out to play, not just play around)
  • Simon
  • Tsonga (Although, I hate the little vicotory dance with his thumbs point at himself, that he does when he wins)
  • Roddick
  • Davydenko (The most overlooked, and underrated player on the tour)
  • Federer
Doubles:
  • Bryan Brothers
  • Williams Sisters
Up & Commers: So far its just these two young ladies from the UK:
  • Watson
  • Robson
