Its been a while since I've been able to post a book review. Between being sick and other RL goings on, I'm about a month (which = about 4 books) behind where I would like to be. Imo, that's the best book in the series. Rice officially lost me with Bodysnatcher which, I never managed to get through and still remains one of the worst books I've read. It was weird, I liked the author's ideas and charas, but not her style so much. And Tom Cruise as the character has never worked for me - he and Brad should have been flipped.

I never watched the movie, but I do remember feeling that the roles should have been reversed. My closest friend, at the time, however, loved it and said that both actors did a really good job. I took her at her word. I think what stopped me from watching was the little girl - Claudette or Claudine??, and her fate...I just didn't want to see it played out.

Is Bodysnatcher a part of the Vampire Chronicles?

I agree that her writing style is an acquired taste, but her characters, ideas and even scenery makes you want to fight through it.

I'll admit that they were good, but knowing the characters so well, it was nearly like seeing them in drag as each other. It is hard to watch the live version of their "daughter" versus an idea, but I do commend the writer for that dark idea too.

Unfortunately, yes, Snatcher is one of the series.

Well put, it did feel like a fight after Interview. I remember skipping chapters of Queen regarding wallpaper!
