Will drink beer for food

Why will nobody hire me? Do I have an invisible sign that says "Do not give me a job under any circumstances"? When I went to Bath & Body Works last week, I was told that they were hiring for their semi-annual sale. So I filled out an application with confidence that I would be hired ( Read more... )

Take heart. Job hunting is a royal pain in the ass, and even a sure thing is never so sure.

Have you looked around to see if there are any employment centres in your area? I used one when I was unemployed (before I foolishly decided to go to school) and I made some contacts there that were keeping an eye out for work for me as well.

Also, don't be afraid of factory work. It usually pays pretty well, you don't have to deal with customers, and you don't have to get all polished and shiny to go to work each day.

Keep at it, you'll find something.

Now, as is my habit, I will post something amusing for you to lol at!

Good news - I just got a call from the B&B manager to set up an interview on Thursday afternoon! It turns out the employee I spoke to set my application aside for her to look at - I have no idea why. Hopefully this will mean the end of my "Oh sweet Jesus I don't think I'll be able to make rent" days.

Of course I won't make nearly enough for May's rent since the money is automatically taken out of my checking account the last week of April, which means I'll have to borrow more money from my parents. That sucks, but I should make enough to pay them back by June (crosses fingers).

I've seen that rock/paper/scissors things before, but it still makes me laugh.

Ohh, that's awesome! Good luck on the interview!

Sucks about May's rent, but at least you'll be covered for June.

Yeah, I love the rock paper scissors. It was bound to happen that we'd start sending stuff we've seen before. Still, it's fun to share lulz.
