I'd stop watching ABC, but I'm to much of an LOST addict.
Beyond that, all their shows are kinda crappy. I honestly don't understand how ABC works. DSM was actually green lighted for a full season, then was canceled a few weeks later.
I think it's a combination ratings and how expansive it was to make. It had a very surreal backdrop, and I assume making a new set for every episode got really pricey.
If you look at all the networks prime-time shows, it does horrible, it ranks somewhere in the 80s. If you look at just ABCs shows, It pulls in average ratings and was usually the networks 15th highest rated show for the week, the other two shows that got the axe, Dirty Sexy Money and Elie Stone, are usually in the top ten and does a lot better then shows that been on the network for a few years.
To just completely stop airing whatever episodes are left makes no real logical sense.
Apparently the show doesn't appeal to many people, while The Bachelor-esque junk is flourishing. It kind of makes me sick, to be honest. It's one thing if it's just the show, but everything the creator makes fails and I don't think it's because the shows are bad... I think it's because the audience doesn't want to think. :(
