A friend found some of her fanfics on a site, seemingly lifted from Archive of Our Own and offered for download, possibly for sale since you need a credit card. She alerted me she had found some of my fanfic there too. I sent them a note this morning, and the fics are already gone, but it occurred to me others might have had their fanfic hijacked

Also *waves* HI! Nice to see you, even under annoying fic-stealing circumstances!

Yeah, that credit card part sends up huge red flags--and I thought it bad enough when fics were lifted and put on a *free* site. At least they don't put up a fight--seems as soon as you tell them take it down, they're off.

Incidentally, I also discovered that one of my fics is listed on Goodreads with Mundungus42 as the author. Fortunately, I think that was added to their book database by someone who wants it on their reading list. Since the story link leads back AO3, where I posted it, I'm letting it stay there. :D

Aww--yeah, that I'd just consider a compliment, not a hijacking :-)

Me? Well, last two years have been insane, but mostly good. I added breast cancer survivor to my resume--complete with chemo. But believe it or not, it's also pushed me to be in the best shape of my life--got involved in a program for cancer survivors that takes you from couch to 5K and ran my first race in November. Now I'm running with the program as a volunteer "sherpa" I've met some amazing people that way.
The down side is I just haven't had the time or focus for reading or writing. I used to log a book review every few days on Goodreads, this past year I don't think I've finished a dozen books, and in fact only recently in the last few months could say I finished a book.

Looks like my fics aren't on that site. I had a good laugh at myself for feeling slightly left out. :-D

And you can walk it--some did. Chemo (at least the debilitating worse of it) was at least some months past when I started with the program this past summer. One of the participants was still in the hair-losing knocks-the-stuffing-out of you worse of it--and stuck it out and finished--mostly walking, but finished. She's my hero :-)
And one of the new bunch that was out running with us tonight--bald and not a scarf or wig in sight--and there she was--out there and *running* Like I said--some amazing people out there...

Especially after all you came through ...

And I was really lucky--in a lot of ways I've come through this stronger than when it all started :-)
