I hate you. I'm here in Las Vegas and I'm not even enjoying myself, because there's this little Scott on my shoulder telling me to drink in moderation and not gamble too much (as if it would make a difference) and keep the showgirls at a polite distance. I'm already an angel, I shouldn't need one on my shoulder! I used to be able to enjoy this stuff, but suddenly I can't. And I don't blame my death wings - I blame YOU. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Alaska doesn't feel like home anymore. I remember when it did. I remember my parents teaching me and Alex how to bundle up for the winter. I remember building forts with snow that was white and sparkling with crystals. I remember taking you up here with me, visiting my grandparents in their cabin, cozy in front of the fire.

But my parents are dead. My grandparents are dead. My brother is lost somewhere in space. And you... you're one of those things, or the other, I'm never quire sure which. But you're not here. The snow is dull and red, and I'm not home.

It just reminds me how much I miss you.

Oh, Logan, I wish you were here. Scott takes this historical junk so seriously, earnestly listening to the tour guides and taking notes on his blackberry. I like some of the art and factoids, but mostly I wish you were next to me to snark about these people who lecture grown adults like they're 5-year-olds. Can you believe they call slaves "enslaved persons" here? Who is that supposed to protect?

Jefferson did have one good idea, though -- a bed built into an alcove in a wall between rooms. Maybe I can talk Scott into building that for the three of us the next time the mansion gets blown up.

Hope you're having more fun battling ninjas than I am learning about Thomas Jefferson's gardens.

Dear Hisako,

OMG!!! I can NOT believe that you'd rather stay with the X-Men and do your homework than join me on Dazzler's world tour. I am having an absolute BLAST! Right now we're in New Jersey, which is nothing like actual Jersey, back in the UK, but whatever. Dazzler is playing at a place called the Starland Ballroom and it's so small that her lights and my pixie dust look AMAZING, or at least they did in the soundcheck. I really really really really wish you were here! I'm buying you a snowglobe or a thimble everywhere we stop so you'll get jealous and actually COME next time. G2G right now -- we're about to go on!
