Feeling like crap and losing at scabble.

I have been fighting some kind of a viral thing since Monday and yesterday I had to call the YMCA and tell them I couldn't teach Deep Water last night. I was just exhausted and in a lot of pain to boot cause my arthritis is always exacerbated by an elevated temperature, and my temperature has been elevated plenty. I have been feeling like a limp, ( Read more... )

:( I'm sorry your arthritis was acting up. I'd hug you, but I don't want to hurt you. So I'll just think happy thoughts in your direction.

Sorry to hear your arthritis is flaring so bad. Yes, Patrick is a gem of a guy.

I'm terribly fond of Orson Scott Card's improved Scrabble rules.

I tend to agree with Card. We have adapted play so that we look things up in the paperback scrabble dictionary, paperback so I can lift it on bad days, mostly to even the playing field, because alas I am not a crossword puzzle geek and my sweet baboo totally is. We also play on a travel board that our daughter Eli gave us, which makes playing in bed, our favorite place for scrabble infinitely easier, except when one of the tiles pops off the board and flies behind the headboard. The cats are happy about having the extra catnip mousie in play, though, the one that Patrick rescued when he liberated the scrabble tile.

My fuzzy children have been thrilled that mommy is spending so much time in bed. Vicky is going to be very disgruntled when he realized that this will not be an ongoing situation.

With a plastic Christmas candy cane. My lightsaber was just out of reach.

Actually, usually we have pretty close games, last night being the exception. I'm better at forming great words, and she's better at pouncing on Triple Word scores. Though I did get rid of the "Q", forming Qi, on a triple word tile. But I feel guilty 'cause I was way ahead at the time.

No need to feel guilty, sweetheart, It wasn't your fault I had viral induced brain damage. And I was delighted for you that you could finally use the Q cause you had been pretty resigned to getting stuck with it. I did use all my tiles, which was rare and kind of satisfying, even though I lost in such a huge way. Good thing I'm not competitive, huh?
