Drabbles R/Hr and H/Hr

Nov 28, 2005 00:27

Right, so, I was trying to figure out the different dynamics of R/Hr and H/Hr - why someone would be more attracted to one dynamic over the other. Sure, there's blah, blah, blah, R/Hr is OMGTENSIONCANONFLUFF and H/Hr is OMGANGSTYFRIENDSHIPSMUT, but, you know, I don't do too well with explanations ( Read more... )

Wow, I've never read R/Hr before. I love it! I mean, I can't relate to it, but I love how she squeaks. Squeaky!Hermione is the best.

Of course the H/Hr is wonderful, I love the reference to the first book. Beautifuly done. ♥

Duuudddeee, I've never written R/Hr snogging before. Well - you know, not in a way that didn't eventually lead to awkardness and stuff.

Squeaky!Hermione is the best.

Muha. Word.

It's odd to read it. I wonder if there will be much in the books. :/

I love it, though. Very descriptive.. I had a friend who had to write R/Hr for a contest. Of who could write the better other!ship, you know? She totally wrote the whole thing H/Hr and switched the names.

Anyway. Yep. Love. Do you just sit and write this stuff, out of the blue? Or, do you know exactly how your story is gonna be before you write it? Whenever I write, I just can't sit and plan it out.. then write it. I knoow it's bad technique, but.

That cracked me up, only because the books are from Harry's point of view. Muha! I can see it now:

Harry crept up to the door, pushing his eye up against the keyhole. With a little help from his wand, he was able to have a mostly clear-view of what Ron and Hermione were doing inside.

Oh, gods. I can't go on. STOP ME. *cries*

Depends, actually. The R/Hr I've had planned for ages because I was all in a twitter about it, but I made the H/Hr up on the spot. Though in all honesty, it's not like I've never written an angsty H/Hr snoglet right before the final battle when Harry thinks he's going to die and they're running out of time. I have some parts of All Nights planned out - the important Horcrux/Plot stuff, but most of the details I don't. If I do too much planning, I get bored.

Very nice. :D

A good way to get a handle on the R/Hr dynamic and why some people don't think its abusive would be to check out Howl's Moving Castle. (The line, "Sophie and Howl were living - somewhat quarrelsomely it must be confessed, although they were said to be happiest that way," kind of sums it up.)

I'll definitely check it out next time I have time.

And I don't think R/Hr has an abusive dynamic, really. I think they're just immature teenagers who don't properly know how to handle their feelings for each other. Also, hey, the bickering stuff totally does add fire to the, you know, other parts.

I really think the reason I don't ship R/Hr is because the bickering dynamic seems overdone. As a fairly prolific fanfic writer, I just don't feel that much draw in exploring it, you know?

I actually enjoyed BOTH of them. And I'm not a R/Hr shipper at all. But it was good. They are both great little descriptions of their respective ships. I'm actually going to save them in my personal fanfiction archive.

Do you write other fanfic, I'm wondering?

Well, I write a lot (and I mean, A LOT) of H/Hr fic and I've dabbled in other Harry-centered pairings. My other fics are on my journal or my PK profile.

Thanks for the comment!
