I'll keep it short but sweet methinx: I'm a Ron/Hermione shipper and am all for friendly ship-related banter with some fellow Potter enthusiasts (i.e. you!) Yay for harmony! People really take these ship wars too far, I'm glad to have found a community without such childish, unaccepting

Besides everyone seems to be forgetting that DUMBLEDORE FRIGGIN' DIED with all this shipper debate... we need to get our priorities straight.

Well, JKR decides everything. Frankly I find Snape more interesting than the ships! It's just ridiculous hating JKR and HBP just because of a romantic sub plot that's meant to be funny anyway. HBP's not my favourite book but I think the main plot of the horcruxes and Harry's growing up and Snape is FASCINATING!

I think the ship-wars are incridobly childish. Even though I ship R/Hr, I don't see the problem with those who don't...let people think they way they want to...In the end, I guess it just comes down to respect. Something that alot of the "ship-wars" don't have.

Exactly - freedom of speech is much more important than the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude some people have with the subject! Livejournal is here for us to express ourselves and our opinions - not to start pointless arguments about fictional characters and situations! I'm glad people in this community seem to agree! :o) x

I've been in two other fandoms where ship wars were, well I came into the fandom at a bad time let's say. I was on the fanon side, meaning my ship never happened and wasn't going to, but I still shipped it. Which apparently is a bad thing, because people didn't like us for that reason. But, soon afterward the people fighting realized that it doesn't matter, it's all about prefrence and not, 'OMGZ I CONQUER YOU CUZ IM SOOOCANON!!1!'

Buffy/Xander, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When I joined the fandom, the Buffy/Angel people hated us, then once they liked us the Buffy/Spike people didn't like us. But since the series ended everyone has calmed down, which feels really good.

I was always quite keen on a Buffy/Xander pairing myself actually! It's quite sad that it took the series to end for it all to calm down though! x
