Well, there's the minor problem that his symphonies all sound the same. We're playing 101 "The Clock" and I spend most of it thinking about napping.

Beethoven owned Haydn's pansy ass.

seriously. we had to listen to the "surprise" symphony and compare it to beethoven's first and i was like, "where... is... the surprise?" :/ haydn FAIL.

of course, sounding the same is just a hallmark of classical music, i think. (unless you're mozart.) come on, guys. there is such a thing as a minor key. USE IT.

i'm not the biggest haydn fan ever. i'd prefer beethoven any day. but i do rather like his piano concerto in g minor.

I like the horn concertos, but that's really it, though I do find some of his stunts amusing, like the Abschied symphony, where everyone gets up and leaves in the last movement.
