I went to
coyotespirit's and
wendiigo's Friday night so that Sara could pierce my ear and my nipples. I figured the ear piercing would be a breeze, my only fear being the use of a needle instead of a piercing gun. I hardly even felt it go through my ear, which was awesome and I can't even feel it now. Not at all like a piercing with a gun where your ear hurts for days, even weeks afterward. I'm so never getting my ear pierced with a gun again!
I also had her pierce my nipples for me. I've been wanting to get them done ever since I saw my sister's but I was always twitchy about going into a place with a stranger to have them done. Aside from the whole I'm overweight thing, there was the total stranger touching me thing, and I'm not really one to go for that. So, when Sara said she was looking for volunteers to be stabbed, I jumped at the chance. I know her, I trust her and I'm comfortable with her.
I was nervous as hell and we sat and talked for a while beforehand. When we were ready, Karl was kind enough to inform us that he would listen for the screams as he stepped outside for a cigar. Thank you, Karl. :) Sara was awesome about everything. She showed me the needle she was going to use, how everything was packaged in their own little pouches so there was no worry about sterilization of things and all that. Initially, we were going to piece them horizontally, which is the standard, but then I had mentioned I saw a couple piercings online that were done diagonally and it looked neat, so she offered to go that route and I agreed. So, off with the original dot marks and on with the diagonal ones.
I had read up online about how piercings are performed, so nothing was a really big shock or anything. The forceps were clamped on, which were not at all painful or uncomfortable thanks to Sara's ingenious idea of how to work it so it doesn't clamp too tight, just enough to keep everything steady. Awesome Sara! :) Then came the needle itself. I was expecting to whimper or cry or something cause I knew it was going to hurt because I remembered the feeling of the needle going through my hand when I was having stitches put in once and the novacain didn't take. I figured, no way this was going to feel any better. The initial poke was fine, just like getting a needle in the hospital for having blood drawn. The burn of it being pushed through, though rather uncomfortable, was not unbearable, and Sara pausing partway through made it better. Each time, the ring went through with no problem at all, and after the initial stab, it really wasn't all that bad. I was very surprised, as was Sara, that there was no bleeding. It did bleed a little bit later that night, but hardly at all, which is a bonus.
Now, a couple days later, I'm not having any problems with any of the piercings. No soreness, except when I bump it occasionally, and no redness or excessive swelling or anything. I'm so thrilled! I love my pretty decorated boobies!
In other weekend news, went to ritual at Kim's house, a girl who flew out of the Hawthorn Branch coven and started her own. It was a nice time, only five of us, and we had a ball afterwards, laughing and joking around. Unfortunately, I woke up sick to my stomach on Sunday and missed the Hawthorn ritual. That sucked. Also, couldn't go to the movies with Andrew like we planned. But, we'll get there eventually. All in all, a good weekend and a good time.
