During the plane ride home I decided I needed to write a short story. I had the idea at some point while I was in Seattle. This one is much shorter than the first, but I think it's a little more well done since I wasn't rushing through the ending. I wrote the bulk of it in an hour and a half on the plane. I spent another hour at home tonight

Dude, have you been watching old Max Headroom episodes lately? The crisis in your story (which was very cool, BTW) reminds me a lot of Edison and Max being "two minds, but with one single memory."

If you have some time to kill, check out The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect by Roger Williams. It's a serious techno-mindfuck, in the general direction of where you were going with your story, and it totally knocked my socks off. ;)

Thanks for liking the short story - the concept has been written about many times before of course. I just thought it'd be fun to give it a shot. Maybe with practice I'll write better short stories too :-)
