Hooray for Hollywood 4

Decided to indulge in a little more high art, so we headed to Gallery 1988, a pop-culture inspired art gallery.

We were initially hesitant about going inside, what with all the camera equipment set up, but it was closing within the hour, so we took a chance.

It turned out the folks at FunnyOrDie were there shooting a video. Anyone recognize the bald guy with the biggish ears?

It's Paul Scheer! Can't speak for his TV work (since I haven't seen any), but I love his film podcast How Did This Get Made?, all about terrible movies. Very entertaining, especially in tandem with Filmspotting, the serious film podcast I listen to.

I bought this 15th anniversary poster for Mallrats too. Next door to Gallery 1988 was Golden Apple Comics, which contained (among other things) this signed R2D2.

My favorite one: Edgar Wright.

Also, some great art from the notorious Banksy.

Finally, the night ended at (where else?) Universal Citywalk!

Is there any better sort?

They're too young (see the black X-es), but I had two white Russians to compensate.

Hollywood Babble-On is the show we came to see, cohosted by writer/director Kevin Smith and LA radio personality/actor Ralph Garman. It was completely hilarious and worth every cent, even though they didn't read the email I sent in.

Well, that's about it. Hope it was enough to satisfy you until I take my next great adventure (which may be as early as July). Until then, my friends!
