Mick stared out into the city’s sky as the sunset lit it. The city was beautiful at this time, but even that couldn’t comfort him. He did a terrible thing and he felt guilty about it. He didn’t wish this world on anyone and he ends up turning her.
“Mick.”
The whisper made the vampire turn and face her, although his eyes were drawn to the floor - he couldn’t face her completely. Not after what he did.
“Mick, I don’t hate you.”
He glanced up at her face in shock - he thought she would hate him… she hadn’t exactly asked for him to turn her.
She smiled at him, “Thank you.”
“I’m sorry, Beth.” He whispered and within seconds she was right before him. Beth’s face softened as she took in how deeply hurt he was by turning her. She knew he loved her and she also knew he hadn’t wanted this for her. However, in truth, Mick saved her life… and if he hadn’t bitten her then she wouldn’t be here right now. He would’ve been here hurting alone and probably even more disgusted with himself.
“Mick, please don’t be sorry… I don’t want to leave you ever and now you don’t have to worry about me dying on you. We can live the rest of our lives out… together.” She whispered, pulling his body towards her. Looking up at him she smiled contently and pulled him down in a kiss.
The first kiss between them since she turned… but was most definitely not the last.
THE END.
