One of my old bosses used to work with Bianchi at Fred Meyer. He actually asked her out on a date, but she was married and said no.
And wow, I never knew about Old Highway 99. That explains a lot. I always wondered why there was a motel (The Lions Inn) out here by my house, out in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

It's a worthy dream. I love funky "road era" motels. I actually stayed at the first motel ever, the Motel Inn. It was funky and quite laid back.

I loved reading this. Alas it still didn't cure my Fear of Motels Phobia which began when I read an article years ago detailing what forensics revealed in the rooms. *shudder*

I don't blame ya. Don't take a black light with you!

Do you feel better about a spendier hotel? Wonder if affluent people behave less deviant in their rooms.... >:-] (those are devil horns)

As soon as I saw the WHITE duvet and the crisp white sheets, pillows and tons of towels in the Chateau Westport 2 weekends ago I felt better. Being daring enough to use all white gives the impression of cleanliness, at any rate.

My daughter and I stayed in an expensive motel (out of necessity) when Brian was sick a few years ago. It too had the 'white' theme, and I felt better there.

PS: Other people? I don't even go there! I'd never leave my apt! :)

Without a doubt, the worst place I ever stayed was in Worcester Massachusetts on New Year's Eve many, many years ago. I lay fully dressed on top of the bed on a blanket from the car and I didn't shut my eyes all night. It was horrible. I think that was the beginning of my phobia.

I love the old pictures from around Disneyland, Teri! Now that's the way I remember it. We just went there last month and I barely recognized the neighborhood. : ) Ara
