On GMTV the other day, a woman said she felt "totally impotent" when it came to looking after her disabled son.

This has been bugging me.
Doesn't that means she has erectile disfunction?
And everyone else said "yes, I think impotence is the important word here"

.....
isn't it "incompetent"?

Now, I don't know anything about Latin, but the word in Spanish for "power" is poder. Now, "potence" is how powerful something is, and when we put in- or im- in front of something, it means the opposite. So you get un-powerful. Powerless. See? : )

hahahaha... now THAT made me laugh out loud! (not the not being able to look after the kid... the impotence part)... its killing me!... i think it should be incompetent... coz i don't get latin... or spanish
