That paranthesis 2 in the A cord is optional you can play that string open if you'd like.

The first chord would be... put a finger on the 6th fret of the D string another finger on the 6th fret of the G string and another finger on the 5th fret of the B string (b string's the second highest sounding one) the other chords are likewise for the B chord put a finger on 5th fret of D string 5Th fret of G string and play the B string open (not pushing any frets).
That probably didn't help any but i hope it does...
