OOH! Charles is SOOOO his father's son. I could just see him bringing Lucia's hand to his lips and pledging his protection with his life, if need be. LOL.. and Michael. Michael's reaction to that, supurbe! That was a lovely little play there.
So Tom's to the rescue eh? Charles, Michael and Tom have no idea what's taken place at the reception. *gulp*
Hmm.. I'm very curious, between fits of dread and worry, as to why the Pearl left the bay in the dead of night and without the three hero's in check. Perhaps something to do with Jack...?
Oh, do be a dear and post VERY soon. I truely was overjoyed to see you'd posted this 2nd part to your chapter. I'm afraid I'm hooked, lined and sinkered on this tale. You write so cleverly and the tone of each character so in tune with the 18th century history models.
Thank you so much, Julie! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Rest assured, I'm working on the next chapter right now (although I need to take a break to make strawberry shortcake for my Mom) and hope to have it done in the next couple of days, at most.
Mmmmmm... strawberry shortcake... mmmmm... I think I'll add the fixin's for that lil' yummy treat to my grocery list for tomorrow. And, if I can't find good strawberry's, then it's banana pudding with the 'nilla wafers and all. MMmmmmmm..
Hope your July 4 holiday was successful. Our's was spent this morning hanging 2" wood blinds that look magnificent around the house, and then hitting the pool for the next four hours. Delightful.
And I can't lie to you: you'll be takin' a risk - and us too, for I'm not sure what he'll say about it when he finds out. Oh, I do love Owens! So much hanging on this, but he doesn't sugar coat it (well, not too much). And of course Tom can't resist!
Ghosts in the brig?? (did you make some mention of that earlier, or am I misremembering?)
Loved your description of Tom being lowered into the shaft - made me feel all chilled and claustrophobic!
Had read through messages at BPS, saving this, and now I see why people were squawking - the Pearl's leaving? *gnaws on knuckle in lieu of chomping fingernails* How's the next chapter coming, huh? *bats eyes*
Eeep! A couple of e's ran away! From the first paragraph: the same sorts of herbs and night blooming flowers that made the air around the cathedral here a joy to breathe. And again here: The blasted watchman took his time looking around, and Tom finally had to breathe again,
Oh, Tom is back. What an adventure is in store for young Sparrow!
Just make sure she don’t need protection from Charles Norrington, mate Love the banter between these two.
Do the right thing, whether the order’s given or not Oh wonderful! Jack's good advice. And little Tom is so like his father to make that difficult choice.
Well, you had my adrenalin going with the watchman coming into the sepulchre. Good creation of suspense, mate.
Uh oh, the Pearl's going. What's happened? This is why I'm glad I've waited until you finished this. To much suspense is bad for my health. :)

Fortunately, once the real action started, readers didn't have to wait long.
So happy you found it exciting. My dear beta readers helped with suggestions in that direction.
