This is a public service announcement. The Master List of General fic searches is now defunct. Please update your bookmarks!
harrydraco is proud to present to you the newly arranged and organised:
What is a general fic search?
A general fic search is a post made by a member of the community asking for fic recommendations. They may be asking for people to recommend their favourite fics, those fics that are deemed to be ‘classics’ or they may include more specific search criteria.
What is the Massive Memoried List?
This list resides in the memories of the community and it is a complete listing of every general fic search made in this community since its inception. The list is designed so that everyone can easily see what others have been searching for and can find some fantastic new fics to read! If you want to read fics following a specific theme why not check out the list to see if other people have requested similar recs in the past?
How do I access the List?
This couldn’t be easier. If you view the community profile page,
here, then all you need to do is click the ‘memories’ button to be taken to the list organised by month and year.
Alternatively, click the graphic above or the link
here.
Other information of note?
Not all of the general searches in the list have garnered responses, although the majority have at least one response. Many of the searches link to fics that are rated NC-17 so browse at your own risk.
What about the new community tag?
As you may have noticed, there is a now a tag that you can add to your posts called ‘general fic search’. This is as simple as it sounds: if you post a general fic search to the community then you can add this tag to mark the search as such. This means that anyone can now browse through the searches made in the community by clicking on the tag name in any post that uses it, or by clicking the link
here.
Anything else?
The monthly count of fic searches posted in the community will continue to be posted. It’s a nice reminder of how active this community is and also informs people about the list. This post is linked from the
page of the community as a reference.
Any comments or further questions are greatly welcomed!
