Unlike seemingly everyone else, I did not particularly like the new James Bond movie. The stupid poker scenes annoyed the hell out of me, and kind of turned me off for the rest of the movie.

Also, it was too long.

Hrm. I loved the new Bond film. Although I sort of agreed to the Poker thing, and felt like it was just a 'filler' to add time to the movie, they totally jumped on the "Texas Hold 'Em" craze that's been going around for the last couple of years. I think the length of the movie was pretty much the same as all of the other Bond films, and i'd expect no less, but yeah the pace of it did get slow once the card playing part of it started. I do like how it ended and how gritty Daniel Craig is as Bond.

I'm with you. I thought it was a sub-par Bond movie. The opening scene (Bond chasing the terrorist around Africa) was awesome, but the poker scenes and the frolicking-in-love-quitting-my-job montage were way too boring.

Ya the best parts were definitely the opening animation and the video-game style chase scene.

You mean like the video-game style chase scene at the end of The Beach?

I'm not really sure. I've only seen The Beach all the way through once because I distinctly remember thinking that the second half sucked, so there was no reason to ever see it again.

i too did not love it, but that's predictable 'cause i hate almost every movie, and anyway i didn't pay so i got my money's worth.

i also did not think the guy was hot, so i assumed no other female would either. weirded me out listening to a table of women at the teahouse gush over him

I actually haven't seen it yet, partly because of the poker thing. that really pissed me off. of course, I also have a love affair with bacarrat.
