I read the Chapters 1 - 3 and this is very well written. It's an interesting take on canon.
The only problem I have is I don't understand French and trying to get the English meaning to appear sort of took me out of the story and got to be quite distracting for me as a reader. I also like to copy and paste stories into Word and save them on my computer so I can transfer them to my Nook. Unfortunately, the hover translations don't copy over from the web. I don't know if the the French is only in the story until Hari gets to Hogwarts but it might be nice if you could add the English in (parenthesis) if possible. Just a suggestion and not a criticism.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of Year 1 before moving on to Year 2.
First off, thank you very much for the awesome feedback!
Secondly, you know . . . I didn't even think about those who like to download fanfic onto mobile devices . . . even thought I'm one of those people! I'm sorry for not thinking about that. So, let me work on rewriting the scenes so that I can replace the French and then I'll package the story into pdf formats for easy downloading.
Thank you for being so understanding. After rewriting the scenes, would you consider posting a text/Word document in addition to the pdf? I can convert Word RTF documents to EPUB and those are much, much easier to read on my Nook. For some reason, pdfs don't flow as smoothly with all sorts of odd spacing and weird page breaks. There's a e-book software called calibre that you can download for free that works great for converting and saving to your e-reader.
I really wish I spoke French so I could understand what was being said without the translation. A trip to France is on my "bucket list" and I keep saying I want to learn to speak a little of the language before I go. Unfortunately, I never seem to have enough free time to accommodate lessons.
