Celebrating HPHBP (that is so effing fun to type) and the fanatacism we are all presumably feeling. Eat, drink, be merry, and enjoy theorizing about just who the Prince really is.
I'd like to suggest to Mr. Moody that Godric Gryffindor is the half blood prince, as Gryffindor house has both pure and half bloods, as well as muggle borns, which suggests that Godric was fair in choosing who would be allowed in his house, and may not have been a pureblood himself. Plus, he had a sword, which is a prince-like thing to own.
I've got my money on Crookshanks. I know Rowling said that Crookshanks WASN'T an animagus, but perhaps the Half Blood Prince was turned INTO a cat as punishment (like Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch). After all, Rowling did say cats would play a very important role in the last two books (and apparently have been in the first five) and there's this excerpt from HPHBP (stolen from mugglenet.com):
"Other Info: On August 16th, the door on JKR's site opened giving us the following excerpt of book 6, which describes the Half-Blood Prince:
(He) looked rather like an old lion. There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp."
Sounds like a man who's been a cat for a good long while.
As for theories, I got none, except that I think Rowling would do something really fucked up and make the half blood prince a woman. Like, Hermione or something. But I don't really think that, and I think I'd be kind of upset if that was what happened.
What I really wanted to say, is this comic was SO FUCKING HILARIOUS. Pepsi squirted out my nose, seriously. Thanks for that.
Man, you can really tell I haven't been paying much attention to the finer points so far. Hermione is a Muggle Born, right? That's kind of different than a half blood anything. I don't know. Ever since I realized my error I've been kicking myself; what kind of HP fan am I, anyway?!?

Very reasonable theory! Moody and I shall both take it into account. :P I agree that Crookshanks will definitely have a bigger part no matter what.

Mugglenet says "describing who is thought to be the Half Blood Prince"
I personally think it's just a new character. You may be right, just saying that the passage does not for sure describe the HBP.
