We close the door in the apartment because thats how it works. You don't have to lock the door, but you keep it closed. It's not the dorms, no one wants to meet other people. They want to keep to themselves and mind their own business. And you're not going to change the status quo by leaving it open and putting pies on the window sill. Apartments are different than dorms, David. You have to adjust.

and 'that's how it works' isnt good enough for me, so i'm gonna mess with it. i dont expect other people to do it, and i most certainly don't want to keep to myself and mind my own business- i want to know who im living next to, drug dealer or supermodel or kroger clerk, just not homicidal maniac.
