Spiky pie!
Dec 02, 2008 21:46
Small Hare announced that he had spiky pie for lunch at nursery. It turned out to be enchiladas. Spiky pie sounds much more exciting, though.
What do you think would be in a spiky pie?

Artichokes are sort of spiky.

Artichokes remind me of pangolins.

'Edge'og. Or, more prosaically, romanesco. A bakery near here does some rather cute hedgehog rolls, with currant eyes and noses and V-shapes cut into the top, which turn into spikes when baked.
Why are enchiladas spiky?

Enchiladas are spiky because they have stinginess in them which must be caused by spikes. Or that's how it is in our house.

I think he meant spicy (although they wouldn't have been very spicy at nursery!) He says spicy things are 'a bit prickly' sometimes.

Jack used to say that! Spicy food was prickly, and sharp drinks (e.g. orange juice) were juicy and he didn't like anything too juicy!
