So, in order to show you the difference a little fire makes... I decided to make my own "Before and After" photos of the three pieces that I have been posting about. (Specifically in the glazing entree) So, I made a comparison photo collage for each. Now, these are honestly not my favorite pieces I've ever made, but part of the process is learning which glazed and shapes you like, so that you can get better and better at them. AKA You gotta experiment. That way, when you finally have a piece that you really like, and everything has worked out so far, you don't mess it up with glazes that don't work together (aesthetically or functionally or chemically). In any case, without further delay...

First, here's Belted Bowl. Originally 2 separate bowls that weren't great on their own. Now, together they make a larger, more functional piece. Obviously, you can't feel the textures, but you can sorta see them in these photos.

Second, this bowl was my attempt at making it look like a willow tree. I put several (I believe 7) layers on just the rim of the bowl in order to try to get it to drip. It kinda worked, and kinda didn't. But, it still looks interesting. However, I got a weird bubbling effect on the inside that was also on one of the Christmas present bowls. Must be the white combined with that brown. (Waterfall brown, I believe.) Also, the bottom got chipped somehow. (You never know... These things go through a lot to come out like they do.)

Third, the bowl that I believe I named "Super Sonics Bowl" hilariously has no green on it like I thought it did. Of course, it's easy to forget what color you put on something if you don't write it down, since it looks so different, and the glazes look so similar. In any case, I LOVE the middle, and the outside came out well as well. I loved the crackled look of the yellow-ie part.

Last, I forgot I wanted to post pictures of the piece that I bought from Jill. It's SO beautiful. Disclaimer: I DID NOT MAKE THIS PIECE. =) My teacher Jill did. And I love it.

I hope this "results" entree is as fun for you as it is for me! =)
