A/N: I just had to. I have changed some of the events into my own and left some from the original plot, so I hope you give this a chance. This also comes from Big Bang's song "Stupid Liar", it striked up some inspiration as well. Very nervous to post this, I really liked the movie.
Chapter one: Nightmares
Seven years later
Seung Hyun groaned in defeat as he threw a vase across the room, the decoration shattering into pieces against the cement wall. The night was quite as the wind blew on the glass windows making soft sounds as they echoed through the room. He felt the familiar tension rise up his spine reaching his head. It was that sing. They were coming back again, haunting him until he couldn’t breathe anymore.
“Seung Hyun...” the voice called deeply as he widened his eyes, gulping a huge amount of air. Dark shadows appeared lurking from the corners of the room as it slithered its way towards Seung Hyun. At an instant he inched way, filching each time it came closer and closer. His breath hitched as he felt the ghostly touches and pictures of that mean flashing in his mind. He was calling Seung Hyun’s name as a low moan. His back arched at every call, it felt sickening.
Seung Hyun’s head was spinning as his hands knotted his dark hair. The atmosphere turned hot as the sweat trickled down his chest.
“Come here...” the man called, “don’t be afraid...” he added.
He could see the five year old Seung Hyun again, scarred and helpless. “Please I have to go home” he said.
Seung Hyun gasped, filling his heart with air again as he woke up in a cold sweat. The pillows had fallen in the ground and the blanket scattered on the other side of the bed. He panted loudly,
“Fuck....” he swore before sweeping his hands against him face to wipe the perspiration off. The sun had just risen filling the room with a nice ray of gold and red. It had rained last night and Seung Hyun can smell the dew coming from the outside in a cool breeze. He sighed greatly before walking up to his bathroom to take a shower.
The cold crystalline liquid slid through his muscular body like a carved stone. Seung Hyun placed his forehead against the wet glass surrounding the shower and breathed out heavily. He hadn’t noticed the tears that were falling from his eyes until he tasted the salty taste near his mouth. Seung Hyun’s heart felt weak as it quivered in fear.
Steeping out from the shower, he wrapped a clean white towel around his torso and faced the fogged mirror in the bathroom. He reached out and slightly rubbed the area to clear out the mist that had formed. Seung Hyun looked at himself, he seemed worn out, eyes red from the lack of sleep. His fingers brushed through his wet dark strands of hair from the side giving it a quick shake. Drops of water fell as Seung Hyun took another cloth to dry it.
Brushing his teeth in a slow circular motion, he stepped out of the lavatory and went over to his closet. Seung Hyun’s fingers danced over the many different fabrics until he came across a white cotton shirt. He then decided on a light grey coat and some matching slacks to go with them. They fit perfectly against his body, bringing out its defined structure.
Seung Hyun wasn’t so much of a neat person but he kept things organized properly around his place, especially his clothes. It was a modern condo with a light coloured theme like greys and white. There was a small kitchen and a beautiful veranda. He had simple furniture that accented the feel of the place, plain but creative.
Seung Hyun applied some cologne as well as some gel for the strands that stuck out. He took one last glace at himself and smiled, he looked flawless. After turning around, his misery, worries and troubles were captures by the reflecting object, vanishing before it came again.
Locking his door firmly, he clicked the mechanical key as his car beeped to life. Confidently opening its entrance, he sat down to drive smoothly to his family’s place. Seung Hyun smiled when he reached the big house and met his excited family sitting out in the garden tables, it was obvious act all over again.
“Come back home, it’s been long enough” Seung Hyun’s grandmother said, as she carefully sipped her morning tea with her frail arms. The family of four were outside in the garden having breakfast and chatting lightly. Since the family missed Seung Hyun so much, they would frequently call him to visit.
“I have to learn how to live on my own” he said as he smiled before eating a small piece of the scrambled eggs. Mrs. Choi beamed brightly giving him a generous pat in the back. She was proud that her son has grown so much and now taking care of himself. Even in a small age, Seung Hyun never troubled or bothered his family, always smiling and listening to their instructions. Currently, he was working in corporation as he just left home and bought a condo.
“That’s my son” chimed Mr. Choi as everybody shared a hearty laugh.
“I quit work yesterday” Seung Hyun announced, still calm and collected as he was before. The three pairs of eyes turned serious as the skin on their foreheads wrinkled.
“What?” his parents interrogated, shock and worry coming from their voices.
“You were doing fine” his grandmother said. Seung Hyun smiled as he chewed on a piece of biscuit.
“I want to open a cake store” he declared proudly, earning confused looks from his family members.
“But you hate sweets” Mrs. Choi argued. She was right, Seung Hyun despised sweets. Anything it that taste made him vomit it right back out. He shuddered at his memories
“Yeah, but all the customers are women” he grinned back as they all busted into laughter again.
For a second he wanted to tell them about the nightmare last night and how they were happening like the old days. But he just smiled, like he always did. His parents didn’t need to worry about more things. Seung Hyun knew they were coming back tonight.
