Chapter six
Ji Yong ate a small lunch and went to look for Seung Hyun. He was annoyed about the bipolar personality the older was showing. One minute he is humiliating and unkind with him and another minute he is doing favours for Ji Yong. He searched the cafeteria and grounds of the academy but it seemed that Seung Hyun was nowhere in sight. Ji Yong sighed as the bell rang indicating third period, he was going to confront him afterschool. He had to; Ji Yong wanted to know what exactly Seung Hyun wanted.
As usual, math to Ji Yong looked like a foreign language even when the professor had tried to explain the concept to him several times.
“What do you not get, Ji Yong? Fractions are very simple to understand” the professors said as she sighed an exaggerated sigh. It was not like he was not trying; it was just hard for him to be familiarized with these ideas. “See me after class... she said as he she continued with the lessons.
JI Yong looked outside the window and noticed the light drizzle of water falling from the grey clouds. A tear escaped his eyes and he quickly rubbed it off. The rain for some reason had always made him cry, Ji Yong never could point out the reasoning but it just made him terribly sad.
After class was over, Ji Yong made his way to the professor’s desk, “Ah, Ji Yong, take a sit” she said simply shuffling thorough some papers. The younger boy reached for the closest chair and nervously pulled it in to sit close to the professor’s desk. “Okay, Ji Yong I have to get you a tutor....” the professor said briefly. Ji Yong twitched at the thought of an unknown student teaching him. “How about Seung Hyun? He is your roommate, right?”
“Yes he is but I don’t think this is necessary, I just need some time...I-I think I will be able to catch up - ”
“Ji Yong, Seoul Academy is no place for amateurs, time is precious, just because you do not think it is not necessary doesn’t mean the whole class slows down for you to catch up, arrasso? I will talk to Seung Hyun, this the only help you are going to get or you might have to change schools” she said and went back to marking and shuffling through papers. Ji Yong bowed deeply and stumbled his way to the exit.

“Choi Seung Hyun, please make you way to the main office” the intercom announced. “Oooo...” the whole class cooed in unison and Seung Hyun frowned. He slowly stood up and made his way to the door. As he walked to the office, he couldn’t help but laugh at the numerous times he went to that place. Most of the time he went there for another lecture or threat from the principal or praising for his marks.
“You called...” Seung Hyun said with his head leaning against the wood frame of the door. He yawned casually, maybe I should have skipped the afternoon too?, he thought to himself.
“Yes, go to Mrs. Lee’s office, she was asking for you” said the secretary. Seung Hyun’s brows knit together, what could the math teacher want him for? He didn’t have that subject this semester. Seung Hyun walked through the long hallway where each teacher had their own office until he approached Mrs. Lee’s door and opened it hastily.
“Where are your manners, Choi?” she asked pushing up her brown glasses.
“I have manners; it’s not my fault you can’t find them” Seung Hyun said as he grinned. Mrs. Lee laughed and tapped her red pen,
“I have a favour to ask...” she said.
“I don’t do favours” Seung Hyun retorted back.
“Well, all you have to do is just tutor one of my students, you might even get something out of it” Mrs. Lee said trying catch Seung Hyun’s interest.
“Who’s the kid?” he asked growing bit curios.
“Kwon Ji Yong” she replied back.

After a long day of classes, Ji Yong was really tired. He had a piled of homework and two projects due to the next day, not to mention a chemistry test coming up at the end of this week. Ji Yong sighed as he dug through his pants for the key but was surprised when the door opened.
“We have to talk...” Seung Hyun said. Ji Yong rolled his eyes and came in to set his bag beside his study table.
“About what?” Ji Yong asked, annoyed. He didn’t want to talk to Seung Hyun at all. The fact that Ji Yong hadn’t had a proper conversation with his roommate didn’t bother him, he preferred it that way.
“Mrs. Lee asked me to tutor you...” the older replied after a long silence. Ji Yong clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“Just pretend you’re helping me....I don’t need your help....” Ji Yong said as he took out clothes to change for and walked to the bathroom. He slammed the door.
“I wasn’t going to anyways...” Seung Hyun shouted back and left the dorm.

Ji Yong went for dinner after the refreshing shower he had a while ago and thought about tonight’s homework. At class, he didn’t understand anything and now he has to finish all those questions. Ji Yong took his place in line and scanned the cafeteria for Seung Hyun. The older was chatting amongst a big group surrounding him. Ji Yong scoffed at all the attention he was getting and paid for the rice and miso soup.
The smaller quietly ate his lunch and went back to his dorm. He took out his books and laid them on top of the desk. I’ll start with physics, I understand that the best, he thought to himself taking the blue text book out and started to read the section. After a while, Seung Hyun came in, the older eyed Ji Yong and went to take his shower.
“Are you done your homework?” Ji Yong asked to his surprise. Seung Hyun widened his eyes at the younger’s question.
“Yeah...I finished them during class...” Seung Hyun said. He suddenly felt his heart starting to pump faster again and mentally cursed himself.
“Oh...” came the answer from Ji Yong as he went back to scribbling in a piece of paper.
“If you need help - ”
“Yeah...” Ji Yong asked now turning to face Seung Hyun. The younger bit his bottom lip and met Seung Hyun’s eyes. With that, Seung Hyun froze. His mouth slightly opened at the sight in front of him. Seung Hyun’s heart was racing.
“I just need help on some questions...” Ji Yong said as he went back to reach for the text book. Seung Hyun let out his breath. What the hell was that?
“Ok...yeah...I’ll help you...” Seung Hyun said struggling a bit. Ji Yong looked at him and gave him a lazy smile. Everything at that moment turned bright and Seung Hyun felt his cheeks turning red. The atmosphere was light and warm. Seung Hyun’s heart was beating faster than ever before. The older was surprised at his hands reaching for Ji Yong’s body and pulling it in a hug.
“What are you doing?” the younger said hitting Seung Hyun’s back and protesting. Seung Hyun deepened the embrace even more,
“Don’t struggle so much....”
