I mean, I got into a small Twitter war with a journo from The Nation recently over this shit. It's just... really shocking how much these people are blindered by partisan affiliations, and in a way really frightening how rare honest journos who aren't immersed in that sports team bullshit really are.
I think I post there every once in a while but the quality of discussion has seriously gone downhill recently. A lot of posters I used to see there all the time don't comment anymore. I think it's both an unfortunate side effect of Twitter making discussion quicker/easier and the inability of people to acknowledge different viewpoints on either side. It's like you can only be pro-Obama BUT ONLY THE WAY WE WANT kind of situation.
Ya back around the time shortly after I left _P I checked it like once a week to get updates on what mainstream liberals were thinking and concerned about because my news consumption tends to be more leftist/indy media stuff and _P was an easy way to "round out" my media diet with stuff from MSNBC (gag), HuffPo (double gag), and US-centric stuff in general since my natural news interests are mostly hyperlocal and international
