Here's yet another one! ^_^

Ok, start with your base. I picked this one:(from a baseset that I got somewhere, if it's yours and you want credit, let me know!)

Duplicate, desaturate, and set that layer to Multiply 100%.

Duplicate your desaturated layer, erase the sandals and towel bit, and set to Multiply 100%

Now make a new layer and leave it blank for now.

Type your text(I suggest a small text. I used the good old Trebuchet MS ~ A default text... set to 8 point and the kerning at -75 so it would fit better.) above this new layer and then magic wand the area around it, inverse(Shift+Ctrl+I)so that the dashed lines are around your text, and expand by 1 pixel. (select-> modify-> expand-> 1 pixel)

Now go to your blank layer and fill in the dashed area with whatever color you're choosing. If your text is dark, go with white or a light color, and vice versa.

Now make a new layer and fill with the color #031135 (or a dark blue) and set to exclusion 72%.

Now make a new adjustment layer. We'll be working with curves here! Yayy! (Layer-> New Adjustment Layer-> Curves)
Drag those around a bit until you like the look of your icon. If you want the exact coloring of mine, it was:
(Input, Output)
Point 1: 39,56
Point 2: 149, 129
Point 3: 190, 216

When you're done with that, make a new layer and fill it with the color #002C18, (a dark green) and set it to difference 57%.

AND VOILA! You're done!
