Need help from anyone who's made it thorugh Harutoki 3 Unmei no Meikyuu

I'm in chapter 3, on my second trip through the doors into the "other" place. I've spent many an hour killing things and trying to open chests and I seem to be at a standstill. There's a number of locked chests left, some blocked doors and one seemingly open doorway that Nozomi simply won't go through (I should perhaps pull out the kanji dictionary and figure out what she's saying about Hakuryuu at that point).

There's nothing left to fight, at this point.

Since I can't just walk out of the area and back into the regular game, I'm assuming there's something I've overlooked that I need to be doing. What I fear is that Nozomi is lacking some skill -- or worse, someone else is lacking an important skill, since with nothing left to fight, there's no getting new points to distribute.

Any ideas what I'm overlooking as I'd really rather not have to go all the way back to my earliest save point before all of this. Ugh.
