Very interesting chapter! Sai has finally entered the story! Well, he had been there since the beginning since he was there before the story began but still, now we confront the Sai issue. I wouldn't mind some Sai x Hikaru relationship except that Sai is gone. -sniffle- I suppose Akira will have to do.

Anyway, I can't wait to see why Hikaru fainted, what exactly he did to Gokiso, the effect of revealing his Ho-Oh powers to the people, the connection to this meeting (probably with divination), and the entire story of Sai and Hikaru (which will probably take you a while to tell, maybe?). I mean, it was Hikaru's power that Sai was using, yes? I'm telling you, those two were meant to be... T_T

Well, I've given hints along the way. It's up to you to piece the puzzles together, but there is a coherent story. Now you've just seen more of it. We'll see if Hikaru's willing to spill in the next chapter. He's proved stubbornly closed-mouth, and I'm not entirely sure what he'll do myself. That's part of why I adore him, but it makes outlining infinitely hard. XD;;

Thank you for this review! They all mean so much to me.

I have been following this story for awhile, and I must say, I am amazed with every chapter--the characterization, the unfolding plot, and the never-ending surprises. You didn't just borrow the characters from the Hikaru no Go Universe, you created another universe for them, something as magical and special as the game "Go," and I appreciate a writer that can interpret and translate that sort of fantasy to the reader ( ... )

Oooh~

What a lovely review to wake up to! Thank you so much for your encouragement and support. I'll admit that I couldn't have done this if it weren't for people like you and many others. Especially my betas, who I also wouldn't have found if they hadn't started reading my story in the first place!

Again, thank you. This was wonderful to read.

There's nothing like the resounding 'Aw, shit' of realizing you've run out of chapters. ^^;

I've been intrigued by the idea of this story since I started paying attention to Hikago, but I've only lately had a chance to sit down and read it, and I'm so glad I waited 'til I had Spring Break to do it, because it would surely have wrecked havoc with my homework if I hadn't. n.n This is beautiful--particularly the contradictory nature of Hikaru. He's always been a big bundle of oddness, and being the Phoenix just makes it better.

Your little implications and guesses make the backstory all the better--a few clues that spin out into an entire world. I was wondering if Sai had even been a ghost in this world, and now I know, and it's BEAUTIFUL and bwahahaha I can't wait for the details if the broad strokes are this good. ♥

I also love Akira's trust in Hikaru. But man oh man 'Mercy you shall have' freaked the heck out of me. ♥

In sum, much, much love. You will always have an eager audience. ^^

I think you're the third commenter who's told me that I'll always have an eager/loyal audience. Am I that insecure? Is it coming out in my author's notes? *laughs* Either way, I appreciate the assurance very, very much!

This didn't happen in the anime, but I don't suppose you remember that moment when Shindou plays Gokiso in an official game and Gokiso has that look of horror when he realizes that the brat who totally defeated him one time was an actual pro? It's a parallel of that scene (I always try to draw parallels otherwise it might as well be an original fiction and what would be the point in that?). Shindou looked chilling in that scene too. I'm glad that came out here.

Thank you for this deliciously long comment. I've been getting so many lately, it makes me happy! *bounces*

Not really--I was just trying to avoid sounding like a 'great cahpter write moar' puppet. ^^ I couldn't actually remember Gokiso at all except vaguely, but I didn't really need to--you called out all the associated emotions without my having the evidence, which just made it worse--or is that better? ^^

Yay for update! And it was so worth it. (^_^)

This was a wonderful chapter, and you have the relationship between Kuwabara and Shindou perfectly in tune with the characters. That last particular section really, REALLY brought in the action and questions did it not? LOL! Anyway, I definitely look forward to the rest.

Especially with all the hints that have been brought forward... hmm...

The Kuwabara/Shindou section was rewritten at least four times. You have my betas to thank for this. I couldn't have done it on my own. ^_^

Keep reading, and maybe you'll find out what happens next! Thank you for commenting. <3
