They certainly are, unfortunately. P&P "comes out" on October 6. :-/ Someone mentioned that the one for R&J is pretty similar to a cover of a previous edition, so it's not such a HUGE transition, but... GAH. If Smeyer wants to compare Edward to Heathcliff, fine. They're both assholes and NOT romantic heroes (nobody seems to realize that WH is NOT a romance, but then again, people seem to think that Twilight IS, sooo...). But Pride & Prejudice? NO. Just... NO. It makes me sad, even if it means more people may start reading the classics and realize what garbage Twilight is. I remember not being very pleased when they started making Chick Lit-ish covers for Austen's books, but this just seems like it's a new level of baseness. In conclusion: DO NOT WANT. Robert has the right idea.

Oooh, you've seen the rocking French bulldog puppy, yeah? I'm nuts about adorably puppy vids lately. Either Jezebel or BoinBoing had bulldog puppies "fighting" yesterday. Esplode from cute.

I don't think I've seen it, actually. But I heart puppies, so I'd be glad to find it out! Except it would make me WANT a puppy, and I can't have a puppy right now, and that sucks. :( Anyway, yay puppies!

I love SBTB. They're so funny.

And that new cover for P&P makes me want to vomit.

I KNOW, right? Wuthering Heights and Romeo & Juliet don't bother me as much because I'm not as much a fan of them (because neither are the romances people seem to think they are, but that's a rant for another day), but P&P holds a special place in my heart. And now Austen is probably rolling in her grave at being part of a Twitard-targeted marketing campaign. >:|

On the plus side, though, the Smart Bitches link is back up!

Wow. I had no idea Eddie Izzard was so awesome in addition to his whole dressing in drag and doing comedy bit.
