thought I'd never feeeeel so gooooooood! so good! so good! so good!
that was the fucking coolest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. even the palio in siena can't match this. it was an entire city, just locked in a giant catharsis that has been building for eighty six years. everyone was screaming, cheering, waving their brooms and honking their horns. I can still hear explosions every so often outside.
we went to a sports bar to watch the game, which zia_narratora's dad was cool enough to pay for. the place was fucking packed. we got drinks, watched the game, and as it got closer and closer, the entire crowd started getting louder and louder. I called my mom every few innings and after the sox scored, and tea called her parents, who were inconsiderate enough to have their phones off. :P
when they won, the entire place just exploded.
we ran out on the streets, and everyone was just standing around and screaming. all the cars driving by were honking their horns, and we kept yelling and shouting and pointing at the lunar eclipse, which was still partially covered.
tea and I ran back to her place to upload her photos on her computer so her camera was empty, then we grabbed her broom and ran to harvard square.
I have never been part of such an awesome crowd. everybody was just totally chill, and someone had the bright idea to organize the harvard band to play, so they were playing songs and we were singing and dancing and waving my broom. tea took a ton of pictures, which she's theoretically putting up on her lj right now.
the cops were cool too, at least in harvard square. they let us party, and everybody started trickling out around 1 am.
when we were walking back, all these cars were still driving around and honking at us. every time they honked, we screamed and waved the broom. it was so fucking cool.
we're going to the parade on friday. will take more pictures there too.
oh my god, this is so fucking awesome. where were you when the red sox won the world series?! in harvard fucking square, baby!!!!!!!!!
