I was gonna post on Monday, but that's a holiday so I'm posting early.

I wanna hold your hand
(Ikka/Yumi)

Chapter 2 ~ Venus

Her weapons were her crystal eyes
Making every man a man
Black as the dark night she was
Got what no-one else had

With a loud cry, Ikkaku delivered the final blow and his opponent passed out before he even landed the hit. This one had started out good, but as time went on, Ikkaku had proven to be more than the guy could handle and eventually he'd resorted to sniveling and begging for mercy.

But Ikkaku had never been merciful to any of his opponents. Sure he'd hadn't killed anyone so far, but that didn't mean he hadn't humiliated them completely.

The men on the stands cheered and called Ikkaku's name in a chant. The bald man just scoffed and walked out of the ring to the betting table. Being famous had lost his charm already in the three months he was around, every time a new opponent showed up the bets went up sky-high but challenger turned out to be, more often than not, just a kid that had coincidentally found a sword.

He won a lot of money though. And he was sure there had to be someone worth fighting; his last good fight had been two weeks ago, but it hadn't lasted long and the guy didn't come back. Ikkaku was disappointed.

Just as he approached the betting table, a bright kimono called his attention. It was stylish and obviously not cheap, but the dealer presented the person a small but heavy bag of coins, his wins for the night?

As Ikkaku came closer, the person suddenly turned around and Ikkaku couldn't help but stare into two exquisite violet eyes. He could tell it was a man, but he was a gorgeous man, dark hair gracefully framing his face. Delicate neck and lithe hands had a charming and clean ivory color Ikkaku was sure he'd never seen.

The man smiled at Ikkaku like one smiled at an accomplice for a job well done, a bit of gratitude and a tinge of...mischief? The man just as suddenly turned and walked away, the soft clack of his geta lost in the loud murmur of the crowds.

Ikkaku suddenly broke out of his stupor and turned to the dealer. "Who was that?"

"That? Just a gambler. He bet a lot of money on you."

She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire

Ikkaku looked out for that dark-haired beauty during the following fights. He would rush over to the dealer and wait around in hopes he would show up, he never did though.

"Never heard of anyone like that coming here," Kazura said when Ikkaku asked him about it. "Why do you ask?"

Ikkaku shrugged. "I'm just curious."

Kazura hummed and removed the pipe form his mouth to blow some smoke. "The only place I know that would have such types of kimono's is the red light district, why don't you try your luck there?"

"Alright, thanks."

"Just some advice, sonny. Don't let them or him ensnare you, or they'll suck you dry of every penny you got on yourself."

To be continued...Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Author's note: I can imagine Yumi walking down the street and that song playing on the background. It's such a Yumichika song, it was an easy pick. Can anyone tell what links all these songs together?
