My bed and my couch showed up today! I was initially ecstatic, but then I remembered that they were from IKEA and I would have to assemble them. Five hours later, I was back to being ecstatic. And sweaty. Way too sweaty. So then I showered, and dried off, and now it's just plain ecstatic. Which is pretty good ( Read more... )

It's funny, I sold a ton of stuff when I decided to move, and it didn't even make a dent really.

The left two columns of boxes are all movies, even though I've unpacked another box or two of them. The rest of it's all books. Jesus christ those things are heavy.

Yes! Ikea couches are awesome - I just bought one. The covers were ridiculously difficult to put on.

The covers were definitely wonky at first, but by the sixth one I'd totally gotten into the groove. That bed was a pain in the ass though. Daaamn.

I assume it was a frame and not necessarily the foam itself that was surly and/or unruly?

Most of our furniture is Ikea now...and by most I mean 90% of it. I try to forget what it is like to assemble the stupid stuff. Damn those Swedes and their affordable yet attractive, cinnamon bun scented furniture.
