Brock's journal entry made me think of how I'm supposedly a licensed trainer...and yet I don't battle. I've only concentrated on the badges in Hoenn that would let my party use certain moves outside of battle, along with challenging May to see how her party is for her journey to become Hoenn's champion. Otherwise I was traveling to complete the ( Read more... )

There's nothing wrong with not battling.

I misread it at first haha :') hasbandanacap June 29 2010, 00:31:10 UTC
It just made me think how interested some people are in Pokémon but don't have the license to be able to battle, while I'm avoiding battles.

But yeah, if I don't need to battle, then I won't. Thanks. :)

There's no rule that says you have to battle if you have a trainer's license. Do whatever makes you happiest.

If I had Pokemon, I'd love to help out! But I'm not even a licensed trainer, and I haven't the slightest idea where I'd get a Pokemon in the first place! The rules of owning Pokemon and traveling with them is still a bit foggy to me, but I'll wish you good luck in whatever you decide to do.

You can get a Pokémon almost everywhere! There's a few wild Pokémon around in the city, so as long as you have a Pokéball, you'd be able to try and catch them! But the safest way is to receive a Pokémon from a professor before you leave and go into the wild. Some wild Pokémon can be really dangerous.

I see my Pokémon as more of buddies than owning them. Think of them as your travel buddies!

I've decided to just keep on going with what I originally came here for: to collect more data and research. My dream is to become a Professor like my dad and Professor Oak, anyways! Thanks!

So, even if you don't have a license, you can still catch them?

Travel buddies! It does sound a little nicer than claiming you own someone. And with the Pokemon at this school being able to transform into humans, it makes it seem a little more awkward knowing you can keep them like pets. I would much rather call them my friends, too.

Well, best of wishes to you in reaching that goal! It sounds like a noble one. Being at a school where classes are held is bound to help.

The license is required for entering leagues. Pokéballs are sold in Pokémarts everywhere! I mean, it wouldn't be fair if only the registered trainers can have Pokémon!

This place is a lot more different than any of the other places I've traveled to. Obviously, there's that bit where the Pokémon turn into human... But there are places where people actually do treat their Pokémon as pets.

Being in classes do help a lot! I get to learn lots of things I normally wouldn't learn if I stayed in Hoenn! It makes me consider about taking up a job of teaching in the future...that might help with my research, too!

What kind of trainer doesn't even battle?
